poem: [untitled]

it broke me
into tiny fragments
in which i used to be
these fragments made me into what i am
but now i'm broken
shattered from my existence
what am i to be now
that i am no longer me
but oh
what is this
a light shines through
lighting all my fragments
giving them light
and life
merging them together
fitting in piece by piece
becoming complete
i am no longer broken
but whole again
with more open space than before

where do i come from? what i am ashamed of? how do i talk about it?

i come from a land of old
wise beyond its years
but dying slowly, yet rapidly
mass production happens upon it
little can be done
too many secrets are hidden
and yet to be found
mother nature is its friend
poison is its enemy
i come from a land i want to save
but little is being done

i am ashamed of mankind
the poison that fills my birth
the poison that steal my breath
the poison that runs in our blood
our land is crying
it dies and lives on a daily bases
regenerating the damage that has been done
but mass production of poison is going too fast
i am ashamed that mankind
will not pull their minds away from their poison
will not save our land of old
will not pull away from mass production
will not stop poisoning our precious land

the problem persists
but i speak little of it
the poison has seeped into
my blood
my brain
my life
dependency on the poison
has made me weak
i try but the poison pushes me down
before i can speak anymore
i can't save our land
the poison has taken over
silencing my voice
i fear for my birth
my breath
our blood
i fear for life dwelling on our origin
we speak
but little is being done
and it is almost
the end

part 5

wow. another part to the series.... mmkay.. yea... i'll stop now...

The people around them began to move forward, forming a smaller circle around them.
"What do we do now?"
Zorlu drew his sword and Bertam followed. "Do you think we can beat them?" Bertam asked.
"Sure, why not?"
At first they thought that all of the Gordonians were going to charge all at once but only six came forward. Zorlu went through them without breaking a sweat.
"I see that you are pretty strong," the leader of the pack said. This time ten people charged at them. Zorlu brought down five and Bertam got the rest. This continued on until only ten men and the leader remained. The leader looked at them in amazement. "I guess I'll have to take care of things myself." he advanced with the ten men.
It was a short battle, Zorlu defeated the ten men first and then started for the leader.
"You can't beat me! I'm invincible!" the leader cried out. He drew his sword and started to run at Zorlu. Zorlu dodged the attack easily. He used his fist and knocked the leader out.
"Alright, we're done here." Bertam said as he tied the leader up. "What do we do now? raid the hideout? You know, we do need cash." Bertam looked up to see Zorlu already headed for the building.
"Hey! wait for me!" Bertam said as he scrambled up the hill to catch up with Zorlu.
The hideout building wasn't as massive and extreme as it seemed far away. It only had a couple of chairs and tables. It was a mess, there were beer bottles everywhere and garbage was thrown into corners and dirt stained the walls.
"Damn, this place smells!" Bertam pinched his nose to block out the nauseating smells of rotting food.
“Oh shut up.”
“What?”
Zorlu continued on until they reached a locked door.
“What’s behind that door?” Bertam asked.
Zorlu kicked the door down and it fell with a heavy thunk, dust swirling in all directions. It was dark, dank, and musky, but there was a large chest inside. Bertam tried to open the chest but it wouldn’t budge. He tried to pry it open with his dagger and the lid came off. Inside there were rubies and diamonds and golden coins.
“Whoo hoo! We’re rich!” Bertam cried with glee.
“Wait.”
“Huh?”
“This money belongs to the people of the town.”
“Why do you have to be so righteous?”
“Because it’s wrong to take things that don’t belong to you.”
Bertam made a sound of frustration and closed the lid. “Whatever.”
Zorlu picked the chest up effortlessly and walked out of the room.
“Shouldn’t we check out the other rooms?” Bertam asked as he followed sluggishly.
“You can do that and take anything that is useful. Any money found should go to the townspeople.”
“yea yea whatever.” Bertam said as he entered one of the rooms.
Zorlu went back to the town and laid the best in the middle of the town-square. The townspeople proceeded cautiously towards Zorlu but he did not make any sudden movements. The mayor of the town stepped forward.
“Who are you?”
“I am no one of importance. I just came to return all your riches.”
The townspeople began to murmur amongst themselves, speculating if Zorlu was a good or bad person.
“We are most grateful. But why have you done this?”
Zorlu did not answer but left them with the chest and began heading back to the leader’s hideout. As he was walking up the hill, he saw Bertam carrying a huge sack.
“What the hell did you find?”
“Um… this and that.”
“What exactly is “this and that”?”
“Just stuff, y’know, laying around the floor.”
Zorlu rolled his eyes. “I’m not helping you carry any of that.”
“Fine. But at least we have some money.”
“I suppose now you would suggest to buy some better equipment.”
“Well, actually, I was going to suggest to eat, but getting new weapons isn’t such a bad idea.”
“Me and my big mouth,” Zorlu muttered.
They ate at the local diner but the Gordonians were still wary around them. Some of them thanked them for getting rid of the horrible leader, others stayed clear of them. The owner of the diner showed his appreciation by giving them a full course meal.
“This is good!” Bertam said with his mouth full.
“Don’t you have any manners? Close your mouth!”
“So?” Bertam said as he shoveled more food into his mouth.
After they ate, Bertam ran to the weapon shop with delight. “Pick out a weapon, Zorlu.”
“Nah. I think I’ll stick with my old one.”
“Why?”
“Someone gave it to me. It doesn’t matter if it’s good or not.”
“Uh, I see. At least get something.”
“I’ll go get a sack of supplies to bring along.”
“Sheesh, okay…”
They both purchased their items and headed towards Valviski.
“How long will it take to get there?” Zorlu asked.
“Well, we have to walk back all the way to Babusk and there will be a bridge leading there. Maybe around three to four days.”
“I bought enough supplies to last us a week unless you eat more than your share.”
“What…” Bertam said looking innocent. “Oh yea, whatever happened to that stone?”
Zorlu rummage through his pouch and found the stones. He took out the one with the Gordonia symbol but it showed no light. “I guess he’s not here…”
“Hah. You didn’t even remember until now… but this is harder than I thought. So this means that they were born in this town, not necessarily mean that they are in the town presently…”

“Just great…”

chapter 4

Zorlu and Bertam drew their swords. The Guardian stroke first, barely missing Bertam as he tried to dodge it. Zoro tried to use his sword to attach, but it had no effect.

“Maybe we can only use magic.” Bertam shouted.

Zorlu conjured up water arrows to hit the Guardian with and it did do damage unlike his sword. Bertam could only dodge the attacks because he had no magical skill while Zorlu did all the work. The Guardian was difficult to beat so Zorlu had to conjure more powerful spells to defeat it. Fire based attacks did not work on the Guardian but seemed to fire it up even more. The battle was hard but Bertam and Zorlu fought to the best of their ability and finally defeated the Guardian.

When the Guardian fell the caves began to crumble. “We’d better get out of here!” Zorlu shouted as he ran towards the door. They made it out of the cave and looked back to see a large boulder slam in front of the entrance.

Zorlu looked down at the Fool’s stone and saw that the eerie blue light grew stronger. Then suddenly the stone opened up and showed five bands with different symbols on them. He found a band that had the symbol of his birthmark. He took it out and it pulsed against his hand. Bertam looked at the various bands and saw a symbol that was familiar to him. “This symbol [insert symbol here] is of my village. So I suppose that this is mine.” He took the band out and felt a shock go through his body. “What the hell… Did it do that to you too?”

Zorlu nodded.

They put on the bands and it seemed that it was made for them.

“If that is a symbol of your village then maybe these are symbols of other villages?”

“I only know two of those.” Bertam picked them up and showed it to Zorlu. “This one [ ] is the town of Gordonia and this one [ ] is the town of Valviski. Gordonia and Valviski aren’t really far from here. It’s only one or two days away. These are the only ones that I know, the others I’m not sure.”

“Well then, let’s get off this plateau and head for Gordonia.”

As they traveled to Gordonia, they encountered many monsters but they were easier than the Guardian. Without the monsters the land was more peaceful and vibrant. More animals came out of hiding and thrived and the forest flourished with activity. They came across a bridge to Gordonia and saw that it was broken and below was a fast flowing stream.

“Now what are we going to do?” Bertam asked.

“There’s nothing to do but walk on, we can’t fix the bridge. It will take too long.”

“But the next bridge is three miles away!” Bertam complained.

“There’s nothing like a nice walk.”

As the sun began to set they set up camp.

“Have you ever traveled this much before?” Bertam asked.

“Nope, I only did this to fulfill my uncle’s wish.”

“What is his wish?”

“To have me gather up all the chosen companions and defeat the dark forces.”

“I see, then how do I fit into all this??”

“You are one of the chosen companions.”

“Chosen companions?”

“Yea. We’re supposed to work together and defeat the evil on this world.” Zorlu said as he leaned back against the tree. “Well goodnight, gotta wake up early to get to Gordonia.”

They both took turned staying up to keep watch so they won’t get ambushed. At daybreak they continued on their quest to Gordonia. They didn’t encounter any other travelers, it was as if the people were avoiding this area. They finally reached Gordonia at dusk. The town seemed to be empty.

“There’s nobody here.” Bertam pointed out.

“Wait… Do you hear that?”

“What?”

“There are people here, they are just hiding.”

“Really? Well, I’m normal, unlike you. I don’t have special abilities.”

Zorlu started to walk towards the center of the town. There they saw a huge mechanic spider. “This is my town. What are you doing here?”

Bertam started to reply but Zorlu stopped him.

“Where are all the townspeople?”

“That is none of your concern. Those who oppose me shall die!” The spider started to advance on Zorlu but he stood his ground.

“What the hell are you doing? Back away!” Bertam cried as he ran out of reach of the spider. Zorlu did not pay attention to Bertam. When the spider was in range, Zorlu swung his sword, splitting the spider in two.

Bertam stared in amazement. “How did you do that?”

“Magic?” Zorlu answered as he walked past the fallen spider.

Bertam followed, “Now where are we off to?”

“Don’t you see that building on the hill?”

Bertam looked up and saw the building. “That wasn’t there before.”

“They probably used an illusion to keep it hidden. The lights are on so that means someone is home.”

They started to walk towards the light and they saw that it was a rather large building. When they began to move forward they heard something.

“What was that?” Bertam asked.

“I don’t know.”

They began to move forward cautiously. When they reached the gate people started to gather around them, surrounding them. They looked around and saw a big, muscular man coming towards them.

“What are you doing here? This is my land. Whoever trespasses shall die!”
