Customer 12.23
Many customers don't like their vegetables. How can they not like tomatoes and lettuce?! Inconceivable!
And then there are other customers who insist that there was this certain product on the menu when there never was. "It was just there yesterday" indeed. I was there yesterday and it wasn't there at all!
And just because you got it at another store doesn't mean it will be at our store.
On another note:
Some fucker keeps on stealing my shirts from my locker. How many fucking shirts do you need?! I have my suspicions and when I think about her... she's not even my size! And to even put a dirty shirt in my locker and expect me to just stand there and say nothing!? Are you out of your fucking mind!?
Freakin' heifer!

Pho and Ice Cream

Yesterday we went to Pho Garden for Melinda's second birthday bash after the meeting with the broker [which I don't really want to be a part of anymore] And were late because the lady talked for sooo long.
It was annoying since she kept on pressuring me to do something that I don't want to do but whatever. We couldn't let anyone know since it was a meeting and it's not like we can interrupt her and talk on the phone. That would be unprofessional even though she was late herself. =X
Jenny waited for an hour for us since she just got off work and we said 5:30 but wasn't able to be there on time. She waited for an hour for us - which was unnecessary but nice of her. Unlike six minutes like the other person - but that was her choice and it's not like we can do anything about it since she just hung up on us without hearing anything we had to say. It was unfortunate that we were unable to call her but it her choice of words were unnecessary. But that is her choice - like I said and what is done is done even though we changed the day to suit her schedule.
I didn't want that to ruin our night out for Melinda's Birthday - but whatever.
So anyway. We ate Pho at Cathy's Uncle's place which was very nice and there were THREE Pho Challengers that night which was pretty cool. There was this one guy who came from Southern California just to try this challenge, a girl who wanted to try it, and also this Birthday Boy who his friends made him try the challenge. It was pretty cool and funny.
After eating Pho, Jenny left since it was getting late and we went across the street to My Favorite Cafe to get ice cream and whatnot.
Even after the lady and the unfortunate happenings - it was a nice day. :D

looking at the menu. In between taking orders she began to ask questions
about certain things and finally when she decided what she wanted she
complains about how much the meal is when the price is clearly written
on the menu and she can't add two orders of the 5.86 plus tax meal to be
at least 12 dollars and then some. WTF! You spent that much time looking
at the menu board and didn't even bother to look at the price?!
What is wrong with customers these days? Wasting my time and their own
too. =_= So troublesome.

[confused]
gotten all these comments in Japanese about relations between a man and
a woman and somethings about bulletin boards or whatnot and then it
moves to sexual relations and then the most recent comment is about a
man feeling lonely at night in his futon. I don't know since Babelfish
does not accurately translate everything. I think I need to get Melinda
to look at this . . . it's rather funny but confusing at the same time.
How did this even happen?

But this lady comes in and orders and she goes over to the hot sauce area and picks one of these up

and asked if she could inquire about purchasing advertising space. Which we thought was hilarious [we didn't say that to her face] Because it was the first time that a customer ever said such a thing. Those things on the packets were just jokes and she apparently didn't get it. She actually thought that we rent advertising space on packets.
She Probably had business on the brain. Good times

Dining In
After having "breakfast" with Sophia we went down to Safeway and walked through each of the aisles and then went home to start making foods for when Dany and Susan came. We had salad, pasta, brownies, and jellos [that we didn't get to]
It was nice to just hang out and chat but then there were times when I got annoyed with what was said and what someone didn't do >.>
I get annoyed easily, it's rather troublesome. It was fun until that point. So let's not do it again?
Grandma didn't eat that much - but then again the salad was kind of hard and she ate a little of that and the brownies.
Fattening good brownies [drools] with ice cream.... Did I mention ice cream? We bought two tubs of Breyers ice cream... I know... it was on sale though =/

Such a cute old man :)
Another note:
A bunch of relatives [according to Maggie "from the smallest ones to the biggest scary monsters"] came over to the house and brought a shit load of food over along with some choy and whatnot. Fourth Great Auntie stayed until later and help Maggie and Grandma cook dinner. I came home when they started cooking dinner after I went over to Janet's place to check on some things and to unplug a few things as well >.>
Good times.

Day around the City 10.9
Today I finally mailed my letter to my aunt in Arizona - well, not really a letter but a tiny box filled with trinkets and whatnot.
After that I went to the Richmond District to have an early lunch[?] with Sophia at Burma Superstar... and as always my eyes are bigger than my stomach. But it was still good. We tried something different this time rather than the Rainbow Salad. We tried the Samusa Salad with was really good even though it was a tad spicy. I got the Nan Pia Dok and Sophia got the Garlic Noodles which were both good but then I should have gotten the Nan Gyi Dok because it didn't have a whole boiled egg >.>
After that we bought some candies from See's... or rather I did and bought some junk food along the way then we walked to Golden Gate Park where we saw the Blue Angels doing warm-ups. Sophia got some pictures but she's not online to share them yet =(
It was pretty awesome but they were kind of far away. There were only a few times where they were really close but Sophia didn't have her camera ready to take the shots.
But chilling at the Music Concourse in the Park was pretty nice... except for the bird that scared me... but that's another thing.
[edit] yay pictures

Work Place 9.27
It wasn't slow nor was it busy, it was just right for me to do a little bit of everything since the bosses left to have fun with their kids and put me in charge again - which was okay... I suppose since it wasn't that busy [supposedly]. But it was busy for me because I did a little bit of everything even though bossman said that I couldn't go into the back... but I did anyway. I didn't want to bother the back people with small jobs that I can do myself. It wasn't that bad... but I guess it wasn't that great either because they were pretty much in two different groups, there was no in between and I didn't quite fit with any of the groups either. One group was two friends who knew each other since middle school and the other group was Spanish speaking who knew very little English but I can communicate well with both groups just.. didn't fit in =)
At the end of the shift we did better than I thought since usually it would be 14 instead of 18. Which was good... given the slow economy.
And I wish I was in love so I would have something to think about instead of work. =_=.
Everyone else at the store has drama but I don't have any... which is a
very boring life. I like my workplace better than other places that I've
been because of the close knit family that we have. We talk about everything and anything. It's rather fun and interesting rather than sitting at a desk, secluded from everyone else.

Flowers
reaching towards the heavens for a drop of rain
hoping for more than they can gain
the flowers huddle together as one
sharing what has never been done
expanding more than they can hope for
---------------------------------------------------
and now for something completely different:
Relationships are rather awkward and different and when people want to become more than just friends it can really break the relationship. It's weird too because I haven't talked to this person in months and the first... well not the first... but one of the things he does is confesses which totally threw me into a loop. I mean, what the heck... I haven't talked to you in months and that's what you say to me? And the hard part is that I don't see him that way, he's just a friend. And another thing, he lives elsewhere and long distance relationships just don't cut it. When he just suddenly confesses it makes me think of what made him do it.
When I said no, we're just friends, that basically ended our relationship as friends which really sucks. It's rather depressing but I can't help it. I can't just accept when I don't feel the same.
Very troublesome =/

Black Out?
a blackout. I never liked the dark and sleeping in the dark is less
appealing. Even though it only lasted two hours it seemed longer than
that. 6am is so dark and the clouds made it even darker.
I am not looking forward to switching rooms in two months. My current
room is dark enough but to move to the first floor where there is no
light is just horrible. I need to invest into a night light. Preferably
one that can live on batteries instead of an outlet.
But who knows, plans may change... or not... depends... A room with
possible spiders that can crawl into the cracks or a room with...
spiders that live next to the front door that might crawl into the
cracks and total darkness. Both are just.. o so tempting. But two months
is a long time... kind of...

Kyoto >
After walking around downtown we went to the market to buy some fresh produce and made some dinner. We made chicken with onions and chives, scrambled eggs with chives, and salad with the sesame creamy sauce. We burnt the eggs a bit and it was the first time I made rice in a pot instead of a rice cooker but it turned out fine.. kind of... the bottom was a little burnt.
We had a late dinner but it was all good.

Kyoto > Osaka

Kyoto > Arashiyama

The climb down the moutain was very slippery and there were quite a few times when we almost slipped. When we reached the bottom of the mountain we went to get some food at a restaurant close by. We got a rice bowl, some katsudon, some soba, and onigiri. After that ice cream and stopped at this shop that specialized in parfaits. We got a green tea parfait, a caramel vanilla parfait, and a sakura ice cream for Miwa. The ice cream was too sweet and I didn't really like it so Melinda and Cathy finished most of it. We explored the shops along the streets and went to this Feet Onsen inside the station. We had to wash our feet before soaking it in the hot water which felt really nice. After that we went to the Orgel and Glass Music Store where they made little musical boxes with classical or modern songs. People can also make their own music boxes and decorate it with animals or Disney figurines or whatnot.

When we finished exploring around we went near Tenryu-ji Temple to wait for Miwa's parents to take her home. We went inside the outer area of the Temple and saw some Lotus, frogs, and other plants that I cannot name. After Miwa's parents picked her up we went inside the Temple to see their garden. There were more plants inside and right beside the Temple there was a very large pond filled with Koi which were very large. We walked around the Temple for a while and there were tiny streams running around the garden. After that we walked to the Bamboo road but left half way because it was getting dark and kind of creepy since not many people were walking along the road and I kept on bringing up spirits and the fox spirit and then we saw a cemetery and decided to go any further.
When we reached the station again it was raining big fat droplets so we waited inside until the let up. After that we went to Kyoto-eki to the shopping district but we didn't really go shopping, we just looked around and then got dinner at the omelet place. After that we walked towards our apartment and passed by the Higashi-Honganji Temple and took pictures of it at night but it turned out weird because there was this green light behind us that made the temple greenish and we also took pictures of the Kyoto Tower from a distance. We went to the market to buy some things for breakfast and after that we went back.

Minami Senji > Nippori > Tokyo > Kyoto
After we arrived at Kyoto Station at 2pm we had a hard time finding our way around since it was so big. It took a while to go to Karasuma Line because it was on the other side of the station and we never took the subway line before. And it was troublesome because they didn't have escalators so we had to lug our humongous suitcases up and down stairs. It wasn't cool, especially since Gojo Station had three different flights on stairs to get to Exit 1.
We met Melinda at the exit and went about our way to finding our apartment. Let's just say that we were drenched through... and not from rain. Our manager showed us around the apartment and we were lucky because our apartment was on the ground floor instead of upstairs [there is no lift].
After we took a shower we walked around and got some lunch at CocoCurry and finally got some real greens. I had spinach in my curry and I also had a potato salad with lettuce. I finally tried the sesame creamy dressing that Melinda likes so much and I have to say that it tastes good too. After we ate we walked to Kiyomizu Temple where we bought some charms, got our fortunes read, cleanse ourselves, saw some bugs, and drank from the spring water. We were rushed because it was near closing time which was poo.
We bought some mochi after walking down the hill and went towards downtown Kyoto where they had shopping arcades and malls. Along the way we saw a real geisha but we were not quick enough to snap a photo. She was really pretty >.<
We went around the stores to find some souvenirs and whatnots and then went to eat Sushi. It started to sprinkle on and off around that time but by the time we started heading back to the apartment, the rain got a little bit heavy.
And tomorrow is another day...

Minami Senju > Marunouchi > Tokyo > Shibuya
Today we started late because yesterday the stores showed that they opened at 10am or later. We grabbed some breakfast before we took the JR train to the Central Tokyo Area. We first went to Marunouchi [Financial district] exchange more of our monies but we couldn't find it so instead we went to the Imperial Palace. Well, we didn't really go to it.. more like the garden and outside of it since we were not allowed inside the Palace as you can see from the pictures. Next we walked back and took the train to central Tokyo and then next to Shibuya with the shopping district and whatnot. There wasn't much to take pictures of over there because they were all stores and nothing else. We went to some stores and bought some things but it wasn't that great because it was filled with young people and the streets were always crowded.
After that we grabbed lunch and took the train back. It wasn't that exciting because we're both not fans of shopping or whatnot but Cathy was taking pictures of billboards of her favorite bands and whatnot.
We returned to the hostel at 7ish after we bought slushies? and food.
My lemon slush icee thingie
It's sweet than sour which was a kind of disappointment but it's still good.

Tokyo > Minami-Senju > Akihabara > Taito > Asakusa > Ueno
| From Tokyo |
| From Tokyo |
Today started at 7am when we woke up. We decided to go to Akihabara and got on the train which only took a few minutes. We walked around but most stores weren't open yet. It was about 930 when we got there. We went to this electronic store that had seven floors just for different electronics and stuff. Then we went to this Book-Off but it wasn't that great. Next we went to Asakusa and walked around. We went to some temple but didn't go inside and then we walked to this area that sold things for restaurants and then we walked to this area with different stores that was two mission blocks in diameter. We walked to the end of the store area and into the park where we went to the Senjio Temple and the Asakusa Temple. After that we went to walk to the Asakusa Train Station [Ginza] to go to Ueno but we only went to the park because I was getting tired of walking so much and it was freakin' hot.
It was around 32C and we sweated a lot.
What else? After walking around the park we went back to the hotel and showered. We got back around 630pm? And now it's a bit chilly with a really nice breeze.

I took more pictures than Cathy and you'll see repeats because I uploaded my pictures first and then the pictures that Cathy took. And I was too lazy to correct the pictures to stand up straight instead of side ways =)
So now we're back at the hotel and relaxing and resting after a nice mildly cold shower. Good times.
I don't quite know what we're doing tomorrow but we might go to central Tokyo.
